Denpa Kyōshi Manga Gets Anime Ad by A-1 Pictures

The wraparound jacket band on the third volume of Takeshi Azuma's Denpa Kyōshi - He Is [an] Ultimate Teacher manga is announcing this month that the manga is being adapted into an anime commercial byA-1 Pictures. The commercial will begin airing around October.
The story centers around Junichirō Kagami, a young man obssesed with manga, anime and games. He was a young genius who published papers in the journals Nature and Sciencewhen he was only 17. However, after graduating collage, he became a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) absorbed in his anime blog. Unable to watch Kagami throw away his life, his sister Suzune gets him to work at the Ichō Academy she attends. The head of the school's board, Koyomi Hiiragi, assigns Kagami to his new life as a teacher.
Azuma has been drawing the manga inShogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine since late last year. The Japanese title of the manga literally means "Electromagnetic-Wave Teacher," a reference to the term denpa-kei for people who act bizarrely, such as extreme otaku. The slang was coined from people who claimed their actions were caused by electromagnetic waves (denpa) they received.

Hyakka Ryōran Samurai Girls TV Anime Gets 2nd Season

The wraparound jacket band on the 12th volume ofAkira Suzuki's Hyakka Ryōran Samurai Girls novel series is announcing this month that production on a second television anime season has been green-lit.

The series' story is set in the early 21st century — except in this alternate world, the Tokugawa shogunate never lost power and Japan maintained its enforced seclusion from the rest of the world. At a giant academy for children of military families at the foot of Mt. Fuji, the student council enforces the suppression of rebellious elements. (Many of the students carry the names of famous historical figures.)
The girls Yukimura Sanada (Rie Kugimiya) and Matabei Gotō (Yu Kobayashi) battle the mostly female members of the ruling student council faction such as Sen Tokugawa ("Sen-hime," Minako Kotobuki), Hanzō Hattori (Saori Goto), and others. A 16-year-old male student named Muneakira Yagyū (Daisuke Hirakawa) and a female Jūbei Yagyū (Aoi Yūki) are caught in the middle.
The first anime season premiered in October 2010, and The Anime Network's website streamed the anime in the United States as it aired in Japan. The magazine and book publisher Hobby Japan announced at Anime Expo 2010 that it will bring the light novels to North America, although no books have shipped yet. Section23 Films released the first anime season on DVD.
